In 1992 I received offer for the chair of statistics of the then newly founded University at Frankfurt/Oder.
Dean of the faculty (Essen) 1988 - 1990. In 1992/93 lectures at universities of Magdeburg, Dresden and Frankfurt/Oder.
Major Publications and Activities: Textbook on "Economic Statistics" (= Official Statistics) in German, also in Russian and Chinese
translation edited by the German Statistical Office (GSO), several editions since 1973. "The Political Role of Official Statistics in the former GDR"
Report commissioned by a German Parliament´s committee of inquiry (1994). "Chain Indices, A study in Index Theory",
Book published in 2001;"Index Theory and Price Statistics", Book published in 2007. Furthermore about 100 articles in
professional journals and books.
Course leader and lecturer in numerous Seminars of the GSO and the European Statistical Office (Eurostat)
esp. in the former Soviet Union (Moscow, Minsk - both places several times - Alma Ata (Almaty), Aschgabad, Bischkek, Kiew, Kishinow, Taschkent, and Tiflis)
in the 1990-ies and
for EU-Member-Countries as well as Mediterranean and Balkan countries on
"Index Theory and Price Statistics" in Europe in the framework of the TES-programme (Training of European Statisticians) repeatedly in Brussels,
Luxembourg and in Düsseldorf and later also in Ljubljana, Belgrade, Skopje, and Instanbul.
In 1984 also consultant for the National Statistical Office of Liberia in Monrovia (book: "Industrial Statistics Manual" 1985).
Member of Verein für Socialpolitik and Deutsche Statistische Gesellschaft. Elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), Voorburg, Netherlands.
